Under this current Government children diagnosed with AUTISM are being ROBBED:
- Of their right to an appropriate education
- Of the opportunity to develop to their full potential
- Of the possibility of living an independent life
- Of the security of a brighter future
St Catherine’s ABA School at Barnacoyle, Co. Wicklow has 30 pupils and the Department of Educations refusal to properly fund their education will rob them of a positive future.
Why ABA?
- ABA is a proven method of educating children with autism - 30 years of scientific evidence proves it.
- The Department of Education funds it for children in 12 schools around the country - so they know it works.
- Independent experts who have assessed all children at Barnacoyle have recommneded ABA for each child.
- It makes financial sense - invest early and children may progress to mainstream school, children may not need long term residential care.
How Can You Help?- Consider these points
- Is it right that a child who has been recommended an ABA education is deprived of it by the Department of Education?
- Is it right that a child’s future should be cruelly taken by our Government when the cost of providing the education is so small?
- Is it right that St. Catherine’s Service with a history of over 30 years of excellent service to the community should have to struggle for years and still not receive funding and recognition for their ABA school?
- Vote for parties who support funding ABA in Barnacoyle
Please think carefully - if your child or grandchild is diagnosed with autism you will want the best possible chance for them to reach their potential. Look at the past record of this Government - will children get the best chance if this Government is re-elected? Our children have but one chance at childhood. Make your vote count for their future.
